PRP Hair uses your own platelet-rich plasma, drawn from a small blood sample and processed in a centrifuge, to deliver a concentrated dose of growth factors directly into the scalp. The growth factors stimulate dormant hair follicles, prolong the active growth phase of existing hair, and improve scalp circulation. Over a course of sessions, PRP can visibly improve hair density, slow shedding, and support follicle health, particularly in early-to-moderate androgenetic and post-partum hair thinning.
A small blood sample is drawn from the arm and spun in a centrifuge to separate platelets from red and white cells. The resulting platelet-rich plasma contains a concentrated mix of growth factors (PDGF, VEGF, IGF-1, EGF, TGF-β). The PRP is then injected across the scalp in a precise grid using fine needles. The growth factors signal dormant follicles to re-enter the growth phase, support the existing follicles already producing hair, and stimulate blood supply to the treated area.
Adults with early-to-moderate androgenetic alopecia, post-partum or stress-related shedding, or thinning along the part line or crown, particularly those who want to support natural hair growth without medication or who use PRP alongside topical or oral therapy..
Both use your own blood. PRP is processed with anticoagulants to keep the platelets in liquid form. PRF (platelet-rich fibrin) skips anticoagulants, producing a slower-release fibrin matrix with a different growth-factor and white-cell profile. Both have evidence for hair restoration; the right choice depends on your scalp, biology, and practitioner preference.
The blood draw is a standard venepuncture. The scalp injections feel like small stings; topical numbing or a vibration device are used for sensitivity, and most clients tolerate the session comfortably.
PRP works best on follicles that are still alive but underperforming. Areas of complete, long-standing baldness rarely respond. Active scalp infections, certain blood disorders, and pregnancy are typical contraindications. Your practitioner will assess suitability at consultation.
